8mos

Levi you are 8months old today!  I cry!
I get teary eyed thinking about how fast you've grown.
How will I get through the day when you turn 1?

As you will be able to tell in the pictures, the monthly photo is getting difficult.  :)

Here is what you're up to these days:
*you weigh 20lbs
*you wear a size 3 diaper
*you are loving all baby food!!
*you also get four 7oz bottles a day
*you are finally sitting up all by youself!!  such a big boy!
*you have 1 little tooth on the bottom, but it's not out completely.  And one on top barely showing.
*you woke up one day and decided to do the army crawl!  so so sweet to watch!
*you love the activity table!
*when eating, we moved you from the bumbo to the high chair.  you love it!
*you have been taking your naps by us simply laying you in the crib and turning on the sound machine!  you've been putting yourself to sleep little man!  however, this momma is starting to miss the cuddle time in the recliner.
*you are Jacob's #1 fan!  and he adores you as well!
*you have such a contagious smile!  oh my goodness, i could eat you up!
*you have the sweetest soft voice and you've been saying "da da".  not sure if there's any correlation to your daddy though :)
*you love to blow bubbles and raspberries.  such a little entertainer.
*you can be a little squealer.  sometimes it sounds like we have a parakeet in the house :)
Oh Levi, you light up our lives!
My heart wants to burst!
Love you sweet baby!

hi there. would you like a CERTS?

Happy Birthday Kris!

Today (better late than never) is Kris' birthday!

I work till 2:30pm everyday and so we decided to have a late lunch/early dinner once I got off work.
Then Beth offered to watch Levi while we went to see a movie.  Jacob has been at my parents house since Sunday, and we get that little monkey back tomorrow.  Can't wait, miss him!!

We ate at Abuelo's, practically had the place to ourselves.  HA!

Then we went to see The Fighter
It is up for Best Picture this weekend at the Oscar's.
It was a really good movie, but oh my, the language.  Woo Wee!

So I never know what to get Kris for his birthday.  It's become almost a joke to see what I get.
I saw this at Hobby Lobby and thought, sure, why not!
He plans to redo our landscaping this spring, so I thought he could use this. :)

When Beth came over to watch Levi, she made Kris close his eyes so she could bring in a snow shovel!
She knew we didn't have one and had a hard time getting out of our driveway when it last snowed.
However, Kris had a better use for it!

I think it should take up residency in Jacob's room.
This room is always a disaster!

Happy Birthday Lovebug!

Some Randoms

My sister Beth and her family came over this past weekend.
Kate finally got some lovin' on Levi. :)

I thought this was a sweet picture :)

Levi has had a couple of firsts this week:
Sitting up during bath time (before we were using a bath sling)

And a high chair!!  (before we had the bumbo on the counter, supervised of course)

After he ate, I gave him some toys.  He was very content and I was able to put dishes away, clean the kitchen, etc... while he took notes watched.  :)

You may recall this post where I mentioned Kris and I were going to see Martin Short.
Well that was Tuesday night and we had a good time!  It was so nice to go on a date!  It had been so long!
Beth was so sweet to watch the boys for us.  Before the show, we were able to enjoy a nice dinner.

Martin did not disappoint!  We got some good laughs!
He reprised his role as Jiminy Glick

Ed Grimley from SNL

And Franck from Father of the Bride II

It was such a fun night!

Happy Valentine's Day

Hope this day has been lovely for you.
I just love my little loves!

Yes, this shirt is definitely true!

Here is Jacob (on the left) in 2008 celebrating his first Valentine's Day.  He was 11mos old.
Today, Levi in the same shirt, just shy of 8mos!
We were either A. starving Jacob or B. Levi eats a lot. :)

And for my main squeeze... lovebug, I dedicate this song to you!  I love you!!

May I take your order?

Welcome to Old McDonald's, can I interest you in a frappe mocha?

Meme got Jacob a McDonald's playset for Christmas and we got it out today.
See, it's like Christmas again if you wait to open every single gift.
He loved it!  He walked around the house with the headset on all day.  So funny!

We even called Kris at work and Jacob asked him if he could take his order.  We got a good laugh!

Hey Jacob, is that Quarter Pounder ready yet?

Quality control!  Gotta taste the goods!  :)

When Meme and Papaw are in town they will pick Jacob up bright and early and take him to get breakfast at McDonald's.  He loves pancakes!  Jacob always refers to it as Old McDonald's.  :)

Snow, please Go!

We woke up Wednesday morning with a lot of snow!
It snowed throughout the day and we got a total of 20"!  I don't think I've ever seen this much in AR.

Looking into the backyard

Craziness!
{and yes, we'll be replacing that umbrella this summer}

And on those frigid nights, this is keeping us warm!  :)

Levi is sitting up so good on his own!
His little face is taking a beating.  I think it's a combination of dry skin, drooling and baby eczema.
But he's still adorable in my book. :)

And Jacob continues to be a little stinker, he's getting quite good at it.  :)

When I'm snowed in, I find myself wanting to cook/bake more.
I made chicken enchilada soup using the trusty crock pot, and I made Pioneer Woman's Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie.  OH MY!
{since we're close to Valentine's Day, I added the heart}   :)

So looking forward to next week's weather!
Arkansas weather is so crazy!
The snow needs to GO!  Hopefully the heat wave next week will take care of that!

Way Back When-esday

Timeline:  Circa 1980 (?)
Age:  Beth 7, me 5
Ya'll, there are soooo many comments to make about this picture:
*for starters, you can definitely tell our mother cut our hair!
*why do I have on a fancy fu-fu dress and Beth doesn't?  I'm sure that thing itched me to death!
*as you can see, I've always had great posture!
*what's even funnier is that in another family photo done a couple of years later, I am wearing Beth's dress!
I will have find that picture!

Traditions

If I've never mentioned before, Kris is a big Colts fan.  In particular, a Peyton Manning fan, ya know, since he's a former SEC college player like the Hogs. :)  Anywho... since having Jacob, we take an annual picture of them in their Colts attire.  This year, Levi joins the traditional picture.  :)  And yes, we are very late in getting around to this.  I realize the Super Bowl is today, and the Colts are not playing. :(

Here are the years past:
{2007, 2008, 2009}

And this year!

As you can imagine, there were many takes!

Never could get all 3 to smile at the same time.

I love traditions!  I need to do more.

Do you have any interesting traditions to share?

p.s.  Go Steelers!

Staying Busy

The sun is shining!  Some snow is melting.  I hope this means we can get out tomorrow with Kris.
Until then, we continue to play...

Explore...

Pretend...
{this is Daddy Thomas, Mommy Thomas, Jacob Thomas and Levi Thomas according to Jacob}  :)

Be silly... as usual and still rocking our Christmas pajamas

Picking on little brother who doesn't seem to mind
{that is a plastic saw from his tool set from Aunt B and an oreo mustache}

Speaking of Jacob, we've had a couple of sweet conversations this week:

The other night I had a headache and I went to bed before he did!
He saw me brushing my teeth and afterwards said, "what are you doing mommy?"
I said I'm going to bed.  He said, "I'll tuck you in."  And he did!  :)

Levi was crying and I was fixing him a bottle and his cry got louder and Jacob came running in the room and ran up to Levi and said, "oh my, what's a matter Levi?  Jacob's here."  :)

It was bedtime for him one night and I told him to pick out a book and I'd read it to him.
I got settled on his bed and he pulled out every book he has then he said, "I found Jesus!"
It was The Little Golden Book-Story of Jesus.  So sweet!
