Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony announce they're calling their relationship quits, ending their third and second marriages respectively, they announced on Friday. "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters."
Media attention has focused on her personal life. She has had high-profile relationships with Ojani Noa, Sean Combs, Cris Judd, Ben Affleck, and Marc Anthony. The couple told to the PEOPLE, who broke the news first, "This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. “It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time.”
It was a surprising split for one of Hollywood's most high-profile stars. They seemed inseparable: Lopez even danced in the background for her crooner husband when he performed on "American Idol," where she debuted as a judge this past season.
The couple, who are parents to three-year-old twins Max and Emme, made the shock announcement in a joint statement this afternoon. Anthony added: "That's when we knew - we'd matured enough, seen enough and lived enough to know that we were wasting our time not being together."
"I couldn't be more in love. I say it every day - I'm the luckiest man on earth."
Her mother, Guadalupe Lopez, moved into the gated home in June that year. On July 15, 2011, following seven years of marriage to Anthony, the couple's representative told US Weekly that their marriage was officially over and as painful as it would be for all those involved, the couple were separating.
